I saw the HBO special "The Beginning" and unfortunately it wasn't very good. The material isn't bad but she doesn't perform well. Sometimes she will be so brief about it as to suggest that this stuff is so good, I'll just say it and you'll laugh at that, I don't need a performance. Another problem is being too gentle, if she would push the envelope on some of her ideas, it could be much better.

... Ellen DeGeneres has never been actually funny. Her shows don't keep getting cancelled because she's a lesbian; it's because she's only amusing for 5 minutes at a time. To this day whenever I see/hear one of her routines I wonder how she even GOT shows in the first place.
Ellen Degeneres is the best talk show host on TV. i like her because she is very funny and she always lighten the mood of her audience.
ellen trys to hard to be a comedian and comes off not very funny. The funniest thing about her is the clothes she wears and that ridiculous dance routine for each show.
I dont think she's very funny at all and only has the show because of her homosexual celebrity.The commercial she does is quite franlky scary.But I guess thats were we are in todays world.
Exactly!!! she even looks confused at times grasping for something to say. She only has the success on her show because she is gay and people worship her because she has brain washed them all into thinking she is funny.

and if she would stop dressing like a man and be more of a woman.... maybe I might tend to like her more.
I don't think that she is very funny at all either and that she only has the success on her show because she is gay. Cover girl is fake, her audience is more amusing than she is and she is scary at times. Behind the scenes she is a different person than on stage... total fake
