I really like the mouse click wheel idea... I often use it to open a link on a new tab... I feel miserable when browsing without this feature... :)

It is irritating to watch one scroll down using the arrow.. even more irritating if the one doing it is your boss.. and you are in a meeting room full of people so you can't scream "THERE IS A *^&*ING FASTER WAY TO SCROLL!!!!" :D

Didn't know you could scroll with the spacebar. :googly:

My preferred method of scrolling by pressing the scroll wheel, or middle mouse button. That way an up/down icon appears and you can move the mouse up or down and it scrolls automatically. You can determine the speed by how far up or down you move the mouse.

Actually, you can do that. But the mouse wheel on my mouse is a bit flaky, it tends to scroll by itself and stuff. Also, while you can set the scroll rate to I think an arbitrary number, the default setting is about 3 lines, so when you use a different computer you'll be back to that.

Besides, the difference between page-by-page and a-few-lines-at-a-time is useful to have for different situations.

A pet peeve indeed. The mouse wheel could use some improvements. I would like to be able to control the speed more.

Agreed on the rankings.
